Fendi's $1,500 Red Wing boots are an artisanal update to a classic workwear shoe. A little extra? Perhaps. But compared to the luxury workwear that's come before, kind of a steal.

Revealed during Fendi’s Spring/Summer 2025 runway show last year, the Italian fashion house has now officially released its collaborative Red Wing boots, and they're as sumptuous as you'd expect.

Based on Red Wing’s Heritage Classic Moc model, the brand’s original work boot from 1952, Fendi tapped its artisans to hand-sculpt a finer shoe from this workwear silhouette.

The most notable feature, of course, is Fendi's "FF" monogram interlaced into the boots' upper. Artisans working in the Tuscany Fendi factory spent 5 hours alone hand-weaving the letters into fine Fendi leather uppers.

The completed luxury materials are then sent to America where Red Wing cobblers construct the Fendi boots by hand. Upwards of 30 shoemaking artisans were involved in the production of every single Fendi x Red Wing shoe.

This old-school process partially informs the hefty price tag of the Fendi x Red Wing boots that're currently available on Fendi's website. But compared to the other high-profile, high-fashion workwear boots released in recent months, they’re comparatively a bargain.

Last year, Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton tapped Timberland, an American brand with a similarly blue-collar history to that of Red Wing, for a line of similarly luxurious work boots. You could even say the Fendi x Red Wing is the spiritual successor to LV x Timberland, if you'd like.

And at $1,500, this successor comes in at around half the price of LV’s $3,000 yellow boots. All the better to work in!
